Auckland Children and Families Consultant
Kia Ora. I love working for Scripture Union. My job allows me to combine some of my favourite things – the Bible, training and working with children. Coming from a Primary teaching background I am passionate about the role churches can play in their local communities.
My role is all about supporting the churches to nurture the spiritual life of their children, through programmes that are creative and innovative, as well as by creating a whole church culture that cares for children. We have several resources we offer the churches, including our You’re Losing Us workshops and our WAY2GO Children’s Ministry conferences and training events.
I am also involved in research, looking at what is happening in children’s ministry across New Zealand. Every two years we publish our findings in a booklet called ‘He waka eke noa: Children’s Ministry in Aotearoa, New Zealand.’
For 40% of my time I am seconded to Scripture Union International to provide leadership to the Scripture Union movement around the world. My role is to develop and share good quality resources and training opportunities, network with children's ministry leaders and participate in the Global Children's Forum. I will help develop international thinking about the place of children in the church, and explore models of ministry and our biblical mandate to nurture young people’s faith.
Please email me if you would like to find out more or keep up-to-date with my ministry through my regular email Prayer Letter.
