Lower North Island Youth Consultant
“He waka eke noa” – We are all in this boat together.
When I think about youthwork and the fate of young people in aotearoa, I think about it as a collective responsibility. In Te Ao Maori, the concept of whanau and unity is key to community life. When one person succeeds, we all succeed. When one person falls, we all fall. I have a constant passion to see youth pastors succeed in their roles and want to diligently serve them as they serve their communities. Leadership can sometimes feel like a lonely and difficult path, and with my experience as a youth pastor, senior youth worker and professional musician – I hope to support and encourage youth pastors and workers on their path to growing young people and spreading the kingdom of God.
My role includes building relationships with Maori communities, youth workers, and churches around Taranaki, Manawatu, Hawkes Bay, and Wellington. I love to talk about the Treaty of Waitangi, Te Ao Maori (albeit a Nga Puhi version), youth work – and computers. I also love coffee, so feel free to hit me up for a korero!
Please email me if you would like to receive my regular email Prayer Letter to keep up-to-date with my ministry.
