Our Prayer Diary.

This year we celebrate 90 years of camping on Pōnui Island. That’s 90 years of campers like me. Over the years thousands of young people have attended these camps, and so many of them have come away changed because of their time on Pōnui.

SU ADVENTURE LODGE

SU Adventure Lodge in Whakapapa Village, Mt Ruapehu, offers affordable accommodation, ideal for youth groups, community groups and families skiing and tramping around Tongariro National Park.

The Lodge sleeps 24 in four downstairs bunkrooms, but can take up to 32. Upstairs is an open-plan living area and kitchen. The lodge has a heat pump and is well-equipped for skiers with a boot room and two drying rooms. Two bathrooms each include two toilets and two showers.

Shuttles to Whakapapa ski field and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing , one of New Zealand’s best day walks, leave from Whakapapa Village, 1 km down the mountain road. Stunning local walks such as Taranaki Falls and Silica Rapids begin nearby. Cafes and restaurants, including The Chateau, just minutes away in Whakapapa, offer a choice of dining after a day of action on the mountain.

Parties using the Lodge must abide by the Lodge Conditions of Hire and the Tongariro National Park Board Rules.
